Muriel Altunaga

Strategist · Designer · Change Manager

Muriel Altunaga is a workplace strategist, designer, and change consultant with over 20 years of experience helping organisations shape environments that support people, culture, and performance. With a background in architecture, she brings together spatial thinking, business strategy, and user insight to create workplaces that are both effective and engaging.

Muriel has worked across sectors and geographies, including with CBRE, design practices, and client organisations. Her integrated approach combines workplace strategy, design development, and change management into a single, cohesive offer—tailored to each organisation’s goals.

Whether leading hybrid work strategies, developing workplace standards, or supporting complex change programmes, Muriel focuses on aligning space with behaviour, purpose, and culture. She has worked extensively with universities, government bodies, and global corporations, delivering everything from pilot schemes to portfolio-wide initiatives.

Muriel collaborates with a trusted network of seasoned professionals who are brought into projects based on their relevance and value at key stages. Together, they bridge the gap between strategic planning, design, and change management—offering clients a tailored, end-to-end approach.

The consultation under Muriel Altunaga’s leadership had been superb and has set a new standard for consultation at King’s. We’d never experienced such a thorough and high quality process at King’s before; that it had been a true consultation and Muriel made a genuine effort to seek and respond to feedback about the full range of options and issues for MH 1, both big and small, showing great respect for stakeholders views.
